I am a born and bred Fort Worthian. I grew up in Crowley TX, a suburb just south of Fort Worth, and eventually made the big move north to Fort Worth to attend Texas Christian University. After graduating TCU, I spent some time traveling for work and finally ended up back at the “Fort” and have been here ever since. I have been happily married to Allison for over 12 years and have been blessed with 2 daughters and a son. In my free time, I enjoy hunting and fishing and doing just about anything outdoors.
Growing up I was always involved in sports and the outdoors, but it was not until high school that I discovered my true passion for weightlifting. I have spent my entire life trying every strength and conditioning program there is, but it was not until I found CrossFit in 2009 did I find what I had been missing. I have always struggled with my weight and was constantly in search of a program that had an appropriate mix of aerobic and anaerobic training. CrossFit completely changed my life and how I train. No more hours at the gym training chest and tri’s one day and back and bi’s the next. No more hours of running and doing the elliptical to get the same old results. CrossFit, with its constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity, helped me trim up and at the same time set massive PR’s on many lifts.
My passion for CrossFit and the “sport of fitness” led me to want to share it with everyone. I pursued my CF level 1 certification and we eventually opened up CrossFit Iron Horse. Because CrossFit changed my life, I want to expose anybody and everybody to its philosophies and training methodologies. My goal is to share the knowledge that no matter what shape, size, weight, or athletic ability YOU CAN DO CROSSFIT!
