Getting started with fitness doesn’t require you to feel ready.

It’s easy to convince yourself that you need to wait for the right time, the right motivation, or the right circumstances before making a change. But if you keep waiting until you feel ready, you may end up waiting a lot longer than you intended.

“It’s a terrible thing, I think… in life to wait until you’re ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.”

Getting Started With Fitness

There are plenty of reasons people put off getting started with fitness.

Maybe work is busy. Maybe the kids need more of your time. Maybe you want to wait until life settles down, you have more time, or you feel like you’re in better shape.

Maybe you’re telling yourself you’ll start Monday.

Or next month.

Or after the holidays.

The problem is that there will probably always be something that makes starting feel inconvenient.

And waiting until you feel completely ready can keep you stuck in the exact same place.

Start Where You Are

One of the biggest misconceptions about fitness is that you need to get in shape before you start working out.

You don’t.

At CrossFit Iron Horse, we see people at all different starting points. Some have been training for years. Some haven’t worked out consistently in a long time. Some feel comfortable in a gym. Others are nervous and aren’t sure what they’re doing.

That’s okay.

You don’t have to know what you’re doing before you walk through the door. You don’t have to be strong. You don’t have to be in great shape.

You just have to be willing to start where you are.

Our coaches will meet you there, teach you what you need to know, help you modify movements when necessary, and help you find the training option that makes sense for you.

Whether that’s CrossFit, Traditional Strength Training, Semi Private Training or Personal Training, there are different ways to get started with fitness depending on your goals, experience, and what you’re looking for.

You can learn more about all of our programs here if you’re not sure which option might be the best fit.

What Would Happen If You Started Now?

Think about what could happen if you stopped waiting until you felt ready and simply started.

One workout becomes two.

Two workouts become a routine.

That routine starts to feel normal.

You start getting stronger. Your energy improves. You become more confident in what your body can do.

And six months from now, you might look back and realize that getting started was the hardest part.

There probably isn’t going to be a perfect time to start working out.

There probably isn’t going to be a day when you suddenly wake up feeling completely ready.

At some point, you just have to decide that your health and fitness are worth making time for.

Take the First Step

If you’ve been thinking about getting started with fitness but aren’t sure where to begin, that’s exactly what our No Sweat Intro is for.

You’ll sit down with one of our coaches and talk about where you are, where you want to go, and what you’re looking for.

From there, we’ll help you figure out which training option makes the most sense for you.

No workout. No pressure. Just a conversation about your goals and how we can help.

You don’t have to feel ready.

You just have to take the first step.
