You already know that CrossFit works.
You show up, and train consistently. You get stronger, your conditioning improves, and movements that used to feel difficult become more manageable.
And if you’ve been training at CFIH for a while, you’ve probably had plenty of opportunities to see that progress.
You’ve tested your strength, conditioning, retested movements and learned new skills.
You’ve probably even surprised yourself a few times.
So why not test your endurance with a new challenge this month, too?
Not because endurance is something we don’t train at CFIH…
It absolutely is.
Cardiovascular and respiratory endurance is one of the 10 general physical skills that CrossFit is designed to develop, along with stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
Endurance is part of what we train every week.
The question is simply:
What happens when you put that endurance to work in a HYROX-style event?
You’ve Already Been Building It
Running.
Rowing.
SkiErg.
Longer conditioning pieces.
Intervals.
Mixed-modal workouts.
You’ve done all of these at CFIH.
That’s intentional.
CrossFit is designed to develop broad, general physical preparedness—not just make you good at one specific type of workout.
You don’t need to become a runner to improve your endurance.
You don’t need to spend hours on a treadmill.
And you don’t need to follow a completely different training program.
You keep showing up and doing the work.
Over time, you become more capable.
Now Let’s See What That Looks Like
That’s what makes our 2026 CFIH HYROX Mini Simulation interesting.
The goal isn’t to introduce you to endurance training.
You’ve already been doing that.
Instead, we’re giving you an opportunity to take the fitness you’ve been developing in your regular CrossFit training and put it together in one longer event.
You’ll run.
You’ll work through functional fitness stations.
You’ll manage your pace.
You’ll transition from one movement to the next.
And you’ll keep moving as fatigue builds.
It’s a chance to see how your fitness holds up when you have to manage the entire effort from beginning to end.
Endurance Isn’t Just About Running
When people hear “endurance,” they often think about running a long distance.
But endurance is much bigger than that.
It’s your ability to continue producing quality work over time.
That means being able to maintain your effort, manage fatigue, recover between movements, and keep moving efficiently.
That’s why the HYROX format is such a good test.
You’re not just running.
You’re running, then working, then running again, then working again.
Your ability to manage your effort matters.
Go out too fast and you’ll feel it later.
Pace yourself well and you may find that you have more in the tank than you expected.
That’s part of the test.
See What Your Training Has Built
If you’ve been training consistently at CFIH, you don’t need to do anything drastic to prepare for this.
Your regular CrossFit training is preparing you.
The Mini Simulation simply gives you a reason to put that preparation to work.
Maybe you’ll discover that your endurance has improved more than you realized.
Maybe you’ll learn that pacing is something you need to work on.
Maybe you’ll find that you can maintain a strong effort much longer than you expected.
Or maybe you’ll discover something else entirely.
That’s the value of testing your fitness.
You get information.
And information gives you something to work with.
CFIH Members: Come Test It
You’ve already put in the work.
You’ve already spent countless hours building your fitness.
Now you have an opportunity to see what that work looks like in an event setting.
You don’t need to be training for a full HYROX.
You don’t need to be competitive.
And you don’t need to have a specific goal beyond seeing what you can do.
Come test your endurance, have a good time, and do it alongside the people you train with every week.
Bring Someone With You
The Mini Simulation is also open to guests.
So if you have a friend, spouse, coworker, or family member who’s curious about HYROX—or simply looking for a fitness challenge—bring them along.
They don’t need CrossFit experience.
They don’t need HYROX experience.
And they don’t need to be in great shape before they start.
All fitness levels are welcome.
It’s a chance for them to experience the coaching, community, and training environment at CFIH while taking on a challenge of their own.
Let’s See What You’ve Got
You’ve been building your fitness every time you walk through the doors.
You’ve been developing all 10 general physical skills through your training.
Now let’s put some of that work together and see what your endurance can do.
