At CrossFit Iron Horse, we’re all about hard work, grit, and growth. But let’s be real for a minute… some days, it’s harder to show up and walk through the door than it is to get through the workout itself.
And that’s okay. You’re human and we all go through this. Life throws distractions, detours, and doubt in the way, but there’s one thing that can cut through all of that:
REMEMBER YOUR WHY.
What’s Your Why?
Maybe your why is…
- To have more energy to show up for and play with your kids.
- To feel confident in your own skin and LNG (look good naked).
- To break up with stress, anxiety, and overwhelm.
- To be strong enough to take on anything—mentally and physically.
- To prove to yourself that you can follow through and become the person you envision.
Whatever your reason is—own it. It doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be yours.
Why Your Why Matters
When motivation fades (and it will), your why is what keeps you grounded.
When you’re tempted to skip your workout, your why is what reminds you that showing up matters.
When progress feels slow or life gets chaotic, your why is the compass that keeps you pointed in the right direction.
Fitness isn’t just about PRs, six-packs, or competition. It’s about living better, and your why is the anchor that ties it all together.
3 Ways to Keep Your Why Front and Center
1. Write It Down Where You’ll See It Daily
Put it on your bathroom mirror, your fridge, your lock screen. Let it stare you down when you want to hit snooze or order takeout again.
“I train so I don’t break down when life gets heavy.”
“I want to be around and healthy for my grandkids.”
“I’m building discipline I can carry into every part of my life.”
Whatever your version is, write it boldly and visibly.
2. Talk About It with Your Coaches
You’re not in this alone. We’re not just here to count reps or yell “3-2-1 go.” We’re here to support you as a whole person.
If your goal shifts or you feel like you’re drifting, it’s okay to talk about it with us! Let’s realign your training. Let’s refocus your programming. Let’s make sure your actions are serving your purpose.
3. Check In Weekly
Fridays are for sharing your wins in Bright Spots Friday (and for flexing), but they’re also a good time to reflect:
- Did you show up for yourself this week?
- Did your actions support your long-term goal(s)?
- What will you do next week to stay aligned?
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being intentional.
Final Reminder: You Started for a Reason
There was a version of you who decided enough was enough. A version of you who wanted change. Who saw the value in showing up, even when it was uncomfortable. That version of you deserves to be honored, and not just when it’s convenient, but especially when it’s not.
Don’t let the chaos of life drown out your vision for what you want for yourself.
Don’t let “busy” steal your progress or your momentum.
Don’t let today’s feelings distract you from tomorrow’s freedom and living the lifestyle you crave.
Remember your why—and act on it.
