At CFIH, we’re always looking for ways to better serve our community and help our members reach their health and fitness goals.
We’ve met with countless people over the years who want to prioritize their health and fitness but feel intimidated by CrossFit or feel that they need more interaction than personal training can provide.
And while we love our CrossFit classes, personal training, and hybrid programs (a mix of both), we’ve realized there’s something more we could offer – something that bridges the gap between intensity and support.
That’s where Small Group Training (SGT) comes in!
What Is Small Group Training?
SGT is a traditional strength-focused program that’s designed to be slower-paced and less intense than our CrossFit classes, making it a great option for those who may want something different. While this program is for anyone, it can also help those who experience joint pain, mobility limitations, or simply want to shake things up and try something new!
In Small Group Training, you’ll follow the same training program as the rest of the group, but with more coaching touch points and customization. This ensures you get the right amount of guidance and attention while training in a supportive group environment.
Key Benefits of Small Group Training
- Traditional Strength Focus: Each workout is designed to emphasize progressive strength training. With a focus on more controlled movements, you’ll build strength, mobility, and stability over time.
- Slower-Paced and Low-Impact: The workouts are slower-paced and low-impact, meaning you won’t see high-skill gymnastics like muscle-ups or handstand push-ups, or complex Olympic lifts like snatches, clean & jerks. It’s an accessible program for those who may prefer to take things at a gentler pace.
- Custom Coaching: Even though you’re working out alongside other members, each session is designed to offer more individualized attention. You’ll receive coaching that is tailored to your body’s needs, helping you build strength, improve mobility, and achieve your long-term fitness goals.
- Great for All Levels: Whether you’re dealing with joint pain, have mobility concerns, or just want to ease into a new workout routine, SGT is a fantastic option. It’s also perfect for anyone looking to focus on strength training in a way that’s truly strength focused.
What to Expect in Your Small Group Training Sessions
- Twice a Week: SGT sessions are held twice a week in small groups, with a maximum of 6 people per session. This ensures personalized attention while still enjoying the energy and camaraderie of a group setting.
- 60-Minute Workouts: Each session lasts 60 minutes, with a focus on traditional strength training and controlled movement, ensuring you build strength progressively and safely.
- Long-Term Results: SGT is all about sustainable progress. You’ll work on your strength, mobility, and endurance in a way that delivers lasting results, avoiding burnout and promoting long-term fitness.
Why SGT May Be a Great Option for You
If you’ve ever felt that CrossFit is too intense, personal training lacks the community aspect, or you simply want to focus more on strength training with a slower-paced approach, Small Group Training is the solution you’ve been waiting for. It’s a unique program designed to help you grow stronger, improve mobility, and feel confident in a group environment, with the support and individual attention you need.
